Day trip to Nara with Portia

My dear family and friends, it has been far too long since my last post. Sorry for that, but to be honest, I haven't been doing picture worthy activities lately. Well, all of that has changed. Prepare yourselves for oodles upon oodles of pics coming your way. Today is only the beginning.

First up, my good friend Portia came to visit me from England. She used to live here 3 years ago and has decided to grace the "land of the rising sun" with her presence again. After a day of rest from her long trip and another day of shopping (man did we shop), we decided to get out and go on a bit of a day-trip. This is from our first big outing. We went to Nara, Japan. We had a great time riding trains through the mountains and rice fields, playing with dear, and acting all tourist-like in summer heat. Have a look.

Me lookin' cute and travelin'

Portia doing the same with a British twist to it

If I were good tourist, I would be able to tell you the name of this place...but, I'm not :-p

P trying to multitask: play with camera and take a cute pic with me

P with one of the many pagodas

She said she wanted to see the dear of Nara...she lied

I think there may be more pics of Portia than me...SHOCKING (0_0)

Some greenery

I found Bambi, but when I asked my roommate if I could bring him home, she said "no".

His father was a greedy little one.

Unlike my British friend, I like animals

...don't look now...I think I'm being followed...

My new friend. She followed me throughout a quarter of the park.

She had food. Dear wanted food. Dear chased food. Dear got food.

Dear that pray together...

We went to Todai-ji (Temple)-Great Buddha Hall As you can see, it's a World Heritage Historical Monument

The dear wanted to go too. They were EVERYWHERE!

Todai-ji-The world's largest wooden structure

World's largest wooden structure behind the world's cutest tourists.

Meet Budah, he lives inside the giant temple. In fact, he is the largest Buddah statue in the world!

The grounds. It's very rare to see actual grass here, but when you do, beautiful

Rounding off the trip with another 5-layer pagoda

Heading home...
