Oh well, that's life, and I will move on. But, before I could, they took me out for a lovely goodbye lunch. We had all-you-can-eat Shabu-shabu (thinly sliced meat boiled quickly with veggies and dipped in sauce). All I can say is that it is the BEST thing EVER! I mean seriously, MEAT and lots of it. It is cut thin enough that all you have to do is swirl it around in the flavored water (mine was soy sauce based) and it's cooked. By the end of the afternoon, I had eaten about half a cow, a baby pig, some veggies and was stuffed. Only the Japanese (and alcoholics) don't have problems with drinking before noon! Anyways, enough talk, I will just have to show you!!
First, we start off with our flavored broth. This was mine.
This was the other popular choice in the group-wakame (seaweed).
Now, let's greet the beef!
My dipping sauces (egg yolk or soy sauce based sauce)
Dip in the sauce of your choice (here egg)
Ooh! Who knew raw egg could be so good! (The hot meat cooks the egg)
Followed by some tea
All of that equals a VERY happy and satisfied Summer
That looks sooooo yum!!! I'm such a foodie lol! Sometimes it's best to get
ReplyDeleteout of those situations. Cause in the end, it was probably meant to be! But at least now you don't have to go to the country or get up early on Saturdays!
